Avast! antivirus has been awarded the highest "Advanced+" rating following tests carried out by AV-Comparatives.
The independent company AV-Comparatives carried out a series of tests in August 2008 which compared the performance of 16 of the most well known antivirus products worldwide. avast! antivirus performed well in all tests, ranking third overall for detection of Windows viruses, Macros, Worms and Scripts, ahead of other more well known names, and 4th for its overall detection rate. Taking all test criteria into account, avast! antivirus is one of just 7 antivirus products to be awarded the ADVANCED + rating, which is the highest rating that can be awarded and reflects the continued high quality and performance of avast! antivirus.
